１．Sophia University Graduation Ceremony September 2023

(1) DATE / TIME

Wednesday, September 20, 2023
Ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. / Close at 11:10 a.m.（to be determined）

(2) VENUE

Room 6-101, Bldg. No. 6, Yotsuya Campus

(3) CAUTIONS

1）Only the graduates themselves and one parent or guarantor are allowed to enter the ceremony venue.

2）The ceremony will be live-streamed and recorded on YouTube for graduates.

3）Please arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony, as it may get crowded just before the opening. Please note that there may be a temporary restriction on entry during the progress of the ceremony. Also, if you arrive late, even as a graduate, you may not be allowed to enter, so please be cautious.

4）The entire ceremony will be conducted in English only. However, the program for the ceremony, distributed on the day, will be bilingual in English and Japanese.

5）Graduates and their parents or guarantors will have separate seating areas. Please be aware that seating together in the same area is not possible.

6）Details regarding the Department/Graduate School meetings, which will be held after the ceremony, will be announced on Loyola’s university bulletin board as soon as they are finalized. Please note that parents or guarantors will not be able to participate in the departmental and graduate school gatherings.

7）At the Department/Graduate School meetings, degree certificates will be distributed.
* For those unable to attend the gatherings, information about receiving the degree certificates after the graduation ceremony will be posted on Loyola’s university bulletin board on September 10th.

8）If you require special assistance or need to be accompanied due to specific circumstances, please consult the General Affairs Group in advance.

9）This year, we will not be sending out invitation letters for the graduation ceremony. All information will be provided on this website, so please check it regularly.

10）There are no specific dress code requirements regarding attire. Attendees typically wear a variety of clothing, including suits and traditional ethnic garments from their own countries. However, please wear attire that is appropriate for a ceremonial occasion.

11）Currently, due to construction on campus, the pathway from the north gate has become narrower. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
