Registration/ Online Application Period	OPEN: 9:00 a.m. September 18, 2024 CLOSE: 5:00 p.m. October 16, 2024	All required documents must be submitted during the application period. Late submission will not be accepted.
Screening Result	November 15, 2024
Program Fee Payment	5 business days from your screening result notification. Final deadline: November 22, 2024
Course Selection	As soon as your payment is confirmed. No later than: November 25, 2024	Make sure to check the syllabus before you select courses. If not already, syllabus will be updated on the website once confirmed.
Welcome Packet Notice	Early December, 2024
Orientation	January 8, 2025	Attendance is mandatory.
Class Start Date	January 9, 2025
Class End Date	January 29, 2025
Transcript	Sent to applicant by the end of February

An applicant must:

Be a current student or graduate of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree program outside of Japan. A high school student is not eligible for this program.
Submit ALL required documents to apply for the session by the designated application deadline.
Late applications will not be accepted.

An OFFICIAL Academic Transcript and a Grading Scale from the applicant’s home institution

The minimum academic requirement is GPA 2.8 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent.

*If the official transcript is not written in English, please attach an English translation to the original transcript.
*The submitted transcript must include a record of at least one semester with grades.
*In case the official transcript is sent directly to our office from the applicant’s home university, it must arrive to the office before the application deadline.

English Proficiency Test Score
Acceptable certificates and the minimum required scores:
TOEFL iBT: 79, TOEFL PBT: 550, IELTS: 6.0

Following applicants are exempt from the English Proficiency Test Score requirement:
・An applicant whose native language is English.
・An applicant currently attending educational institution whose main language of instruction is English.
*In this case, please submit an official documentation or a screenshot of the university’s website showing English is the primary language of instruction at home institution instead of English Proficiency Test Score.

Applications will be screened by Sophia Short-term program committee based on the submitted documents.
