Sophia University Benefactors’ Scholarship （Sophia Alumni Entrepreneurs Club Scholarship）(current students in Doctoral Program of Graduate School of Science and Technology)

The scholarship provides a financial incentive for students with outstanding research skills and knowledge who are highly expected to acquire global perspectives and play active roles in the future. Funded by the donation from Sophia Alumni Entrepreneurs Club Scholarship, established in 2017, this scholarship provision was started in 2019 according to the intention of the benefactors to contribute to fostering excellent researchers. Students will be selected by screening of application documents, recommendations from the Graduate Schools and by interviews.

1.Eligible students

Students enrolled in Doctoral Program of Sophia University Graduate School of Science and Technology, who have outstanding research skills and knowledge and are highly expected to acquire global perspectives and play active roles in the future.

2.Number of recipients: (recruited every other year)

One student (one recipient in 2019)

3.Scholarship amount:

Annual amount: 1,800,000 yen (monthly amount: 150,000 yen)

• Receipt of multiple scholarships is allowed

4.Scholarship period:

Required residence term, as a rule (three years)

• Screening for scholarship continuation will be held every year by the Graduate School to determine the approval for extension of scholarship period.

5.Announcement of selection result

Application period: Early April to mid-April, selection period: July (to be determined)
