Research on Human Subjects

Sophia University has established the “Sophia University Guidelines for Research on Human Subjects,” which sets ethical standards for research on human subjects.
Additionally, we have established the “Sophia University Regulations for the Ethics Committee on Research on Human Subjects,” which outlines the operation of the committee that reviews research plans based on these guidelines.

Researchers conducting research on human subjects are required to understand these guidelines and regulations. Please first use the checklist to determine whether an ethical review is necessary for your research plan.

Ethics Committee for Research on Human Subjects

If you wish to request an ethical review of your research plan, please submit the Application for Examination of Research Plan, along with related documents (explanatory materials, questionnaires, consent forms, etc.). Prior consultation with specialized staff is also available.
